Welcome to Rebellious Creativity
A place to take creative risks, speak the truth (as I see it), and perhaps spark a little creative rebellion.

About Me
Hello!
My name is Lisa.
I am a woman in the midst of recreating my life in a way that aligns with my views of the world.
I am (or have been):
-
a college professor in theater, writing, and interdisciplinary courses
-
a theater director, educator, and producer.
-
an author of both fiction and non-fiction
-
a creativity coach and workshop leader
-
a speaker
-
a mother
-
a wife
-
a dog owner
-
a friend

Now, I have entered the period of my life where I want to live by my own rules. As I get older, there seem to be fewer places that want to hear from a well-educated (I hold both an MFA and a Ph.D.) woman whose hair has turned silver, whose daughter is an adult, and who believes in a world that is led by creativity, kindness, justice, and equity NOT patriarchy and capitalism.

(Yes, this website will be exploring social justice issues. If you are looking for a politics-free zone, it isn't here, because everything is political.)

For a while, I lost myself in a world that wants me to be invisible. I (like so many of us) felt overwhelmed about the chaos in the world, but particularly in the USA, where I live. I found myself silencing my voice in the face of overwhelming hate.

But I'm done hiding and being quiet. I believe in the power of words, stories, and acts of creative rebellion.

Words matter. Stories matter. We share ourselves through words and creativity, and by doing that, we build a better life for everyone.

I wield words in the hope of inspiring others to find better solutions to the complexities in our world. Join me.
